Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OX Shops (“OX Shops”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our marketing website, create a merchant account, or use our platform to build and operate an online store. It applies to the OX Shops platform itself.
A note for shoppers: each store hosted on OX Shops is operated by an independent merchant. Merchants are the controllers of the personal information they collect from their customers and are responsible for their own store-level privacy policies. If you purchased from, or interacted with, a specific store, please refer to that store’s own privacy policy for details about how it handles your information.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — the name, email address, password, and store details you provide when you sign up as a merchant.
- Billing information — details needed to process your subscription. Card details are handled by our payment processors and are not stored on our servers.
- Store content — the products, images, branding, and settings you upload while building your storefront.
- Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar diagnostic information collected automatically when you use the platform.
- Cookies — small files used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. See Cookies below.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the platform.
- Create and manage your merchant account and hosted storefront.
- Process subscription payments.
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
- Monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing), when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer. Service providers are bound to use the information only as needed to provide their services to us.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate core features of the platform, along with limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working correctly.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights with respect to information we control, contact us using the details below. For information held by an individual store, please contact that merchant directly.
International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
